Kathmandu & Annapurna Foothills From medieval Kathmandu you’ll visit one-time capital Bhaktapur, to explore its delightful square and many temples, before visiting Kathmandu’s famous Pashupatinath Temple and flying to Pokhara, for a boat trip on the lovely Phewa Lake. Over the next three days you’ll have the choice of taking short walks in the countryside around Pokhara or joining a classic Himalayan tented trek. Whichever option you choose, there’s plenty of time to walk at your own pace and enjoy the magnificent mountain views. Bandipur & Chitwan Pausing at the traditional hill village of Bandipur, you’ve time to relax or explore on foot. In Chitwan National Park you’ll use a variety of transport to go on safari in search of the area’s wonderful wildlife including the endangered one-horned Indian rhino. A short flight back to Kathmandu allows time to explore Patan, one of the valley’s ancient cities and to wander the many atmospheric bazaars in search of souvenirs. Distinctive Accommodation The accommodation on this trip has been chosen with character and comfort in mind. The Hotel Vajra boasts a peaceful setting, while Fishtail Lodge is set in sub-tropical gardens on the shores of Phewa Lake with views of the Annapurna. Bandipur accommodation is rustic but comfortable. Responsible Travel A community sports centre is being built to be used by villagers in an area called Trisuli – The Adventure Company is helping to fund this project. |
